Out of pure boredom I have taken some painting classes at the local Burlington Art Centre.

Most of the students were drawing nudes in their sketchbooks.
I decided to be different, since I am driven by the desire to be different and I did my "art work" directly on the nude.

The instructor was little annoyed because I spent too much time on these little gentians.

My son Paul came up with the English assignment.

Explain allusions in the story, The Pit and the Pendulum.

My son was never properly taught the art of writing or usage of allusions in literature for that matter.

So, we "google" it.

And now, we are fine.

However, I will write a letter to Paul's teacher and ask him to donate a couple of hundred bucks to Mr. Google since the teacher didn't do what he is paid for and Mr. Google served as well as a substitute without any pay.

In the meantime we have people in power that depend on bullying.

The training will start next semester.
For those who would like to choose the medical field as their future profession, decision making and critical thinking is highly recommended at least in grade 11 and 12.

I still remember sitting for many years on these long staff meetings, listening to bureaucrats and to my surprise, no one ever oppose to anything they had to say. In my mind, I was back in communist Czechoslovakia when a challenge of those in power would be a suicide.

But, I said to myself, "I am in Canada now, I am strong and free.." and I did challenge. Back in Prague they would sentenced me to the uranium mines, but here, these sweet Canadians sent me to my room and I had to write 50 times on my board, "The Might is always Right".

Today is my little anniversary.

TORONTO — As tens of thousands of Canadian university students hit the books for their exams, schools are looking ahead to keep those who tank from dropping out.

"Once people do badly, they don't want to be in school anymore," said Todd Stinebrickner, a professor at the University of Western Ontario who has studied the reasons university students choose to pack it all in.

His research suggests about 60 per cent of students who drop out of university do so because they're not performing as well as they expected.

That's largely because they're not prepared for the heavier workload. Students therefore drop out, $11000 in tuition fees is gone, they can't find a decent job and are in very bad shape financially.
"That sort of says, well, things have to be a little bit different at earlier stages of education on public and high school levels" he says.

This woman was so upset that she took her case to the local high schools, ignored the cold Canadian weather and "let the school officials know" how she feels about their jobs as to prepare students for the post-secondary programs.

*Canadians turned high schools into "drop in centers". And the trend from drop in to drop out becomes unavoidable logical consequence. Just to show some solidarity with her cause, I asked this obviously freezing woman to drop in for some hot tea and spiced rum, after her demonstration is completed.
